Golden Grove

Many miles from the cooling ocean breeze, the air here is still, the heat enveloping and the red earth feels as hot as the burning sun that has bleached the land. Coming from a lush, verdant country, I find it hard to believe that anything can live or grow in such inhospitable surroundings but on the approach to Golden Grove we pass an orchard of Olive trees and as we turn in to the farm entrance I can see very healthy hydrangeas which just love damp conditions.

It is extraordinary how people have been able to tame this environment, to go beyond just surviving and to fashion life. We are here to visit the farm at Golden Grove, for their Oranges and their fresh Orange juice; true nectar in such a parched place.
