Day 133
Our garden
Monday 31st October
Late last night our water was cut off by a burst water main somewhere in the village. Lots of posts on Facebook from local residents keeping us all informed; its extraordinary how Facebook has become such a part of village life.
Water finally came back late morning but the presure was terrible; I may as well have been squirted with a water pistol rather than showering!
The house was full with the ladies from the Monday Prosecco club today all having tattoos done; much laughter and much anaesthetic Prosecco required. I managed to work through it all. My reward was to take delivery of a new monitor for photo editing and what a difference. I can see how the highlights and shadows roll off properly, the tonal changes are so subtle and the colours are just great. It's like having your eyesight corrected and your emotions tuned in all at the same time.
It was a misty start to the day, with the rising sun lending a golden glow. Autumn can be such a beautiful time of year.
This evening the village was out in force for Halloween. The children of Tollesbury get to have a lot of fun in a very safe environment and they are all so polite.
