Day 166
Still Life
Saturday 3rd December
I spent the day sorting out the garage, clearing it up and storing things for winter, a job that has been waiting for weeks now so I'm pleased that I've finally got it done. I had planned to head down to the sea wall this afternoon before sunset but I was way too late for that.
I haven't taken a still life for a few weeks and I've had a shot in mind for a while. I swapped 50mm lens for my Lensbaby 3G, which imparts such a dreamy quality. It's a bizarre looking little lens, with which you can move the sweet focus spot around the picture. I tend to keep it pretty simple as the results can become far too extreme. We've had this vase for years and we both love it, great shape and texture, lovely dark tone, ideal for a moody photograph.
