Day 210

Darkness in the Chelmer Valley

Darkness in the Chelmer Valley

Monday 16th January 2017

Beautiful start to the day, the light was stunning with the sun peering out between the horizon and a bank of cloud. So many pictures to take but no time. Late start for me, so I just had to head straight in to the office. This evening I walked back through the city centre, not really feeling the inspiration but it's odd how shots crop up when you need them. I found a bunch of different shots through the city centre,  including a shot of Debenhams reflected in the window of H&M.

My favourite is actually a shot of the darkness on part of my route home. My journey takes me along the small lanes winding through the Chelmer Valley and at this time of year they are very, very dark with a total absence of street lights. Wonderful. I really love the feeling in this shot and I love it all the more for not being sharp, just an impression of what lies beyond the reach of the headlights.
