After the recent days of cold, dull weather, the sunshine and warmth this morning were so welcome. As ever on a Friday my journey through the Chelmer Valley was quiet and relaxed, just taking in the beautiful surroundings basking in the sun.

This evening we are heading off to a benefit meal for a friend who lost her beach hut in a malicious fire on Mersea Island that burnt down 7 beach huts. Such a senseless thing to do, but out of the ashes a new beach hut will emerge and stronger friendships to boot.

The benefit was held at The Loft, which has featured several times during this project, only once from the inside and that was a black and white shot. I've captured the exterior a couple of times too but today I wanted to pick out the quirky and vibrant character of it's interior.
