Day 327

Tollesbury

Tollesbury

Saturday 13th May 2017

I had an eye test this morning and ordered some new glasses, due in next week. There's something so fundamental about eyesight for all of us but for a photographer, for a visual communicator, it is unbelievably precious.

Lots of jobs to do at home this weekend to prepare for friends arriving mid-week anda quick trip down to the hard this evening to grab my photo. The light was beautiful and as I approached the old lofts, I knew exactly what photo I would be taking tonight. Simple colour scheme, strong repetitive shapes pushing the eye up towards the heavens and wonderful light that just makes the sail lofts glow. Sometimes you have to search out the picture within a scene, to distil the essence, and on other occasions everything just falls in to place right in front of you as it did tonight; photography doesn't get much more simple or direct than this.
