Day 4

Friday 24th June 2016

I woke to the news that Britain has voted to leave the EU. The pound and the FTSE have dropped massively in value, back to levels last seen in 1985; oddly Rick Astley is also back at number one! It looks like we're in for a turbulent time in the coming years and I hope the gamble from the Brexit camp pays off.

My journey to Chelmsford today was pretty difficult with many of the floods still too high for traffic to pass. Its peculiar to see so much standing water in June in the driest part of England. Looking on the bright side, at least our grass is green.

On my way home this evening I stopped off at the River Chelmer near Ulting; so many people down there just checking it out. It never ceases to amaze me how the natural world draws people to it.
