Day 72

Tollesbury

Tollesbury

Wednesday 31st August

Today is officially the last day of summer and it's been a roller coaster for us. We've had the highs of our family visiting from Australia and the lows of parents in hospital. The weather has been stunning over the school holidays, I can't remember the last time it was this good. Fortunately in our south-eastern corner we can probably prolong summer for a couple of weeks if the weather holds.

I headed down to the marina and sea wall at sunset this evening; a little late after mowing the grass. The light was ok, no stunning sunset but some nice clouds and subtle colour. I shot on both my D700 for colour and F100 for black and white. It will be interesting to compare and the two pictures I've chosen for today show the subtlety of the digital colour shot and the grainy, crunchy black and white film shot; Tri-X is like rock-n-roll for the camera!
