It's a big day for our county town, Chelmsford, with the opening of the long awaited John Lewis store and Bond Street retail development. Sounds trivial, but the enticement of John Lewis is set to bring many more people in to the city, boosting the economy in a way that binging a major manufacturer to the city once did. Very much a sign of the times.
