Day 103
Swimming lack near River Chelmer
Saturday 1st October
I did a heap of scanning this morning, trying to understand the nature of Kodak Tri-X 400. The scans I received earlier in the week were pretty poor generally, but the film development is fine, thankfully. My conclusion is that I generally need to back off my exposure by around a stop as the negatives are too dense right now. Overall I'm pleased with my scans and it's been a rewarding exercise to understand how the film reacts to exposure and the latitude in the film. Interesting that it seems to need less exposure than Ilford HP5-Plus.
Doff and I headed in to Chelmsford this afternoon to pickup Doff's new iPhone; very exciting given that her old iPhone is on it's last legs. Quite a lot of shopping was done; we don't go shopping often so it can be a bit of a marathon when we do.
We stopped off at the swimming lake on the way home as the sun was setting. No one swimming today, but a Great Crested Grebe and Little Egret were not happy with me for disturbing their peace.
