Day 199
Frost patterns, Tollesbury
Thursday 5th January 2017
Hard frost this morning, the car needed some serious de-icing. I shot a few frames on the way in to Chelmsford this morning and it will be interesting to see the results of the pictures on Tri-X. I also shot on my D700, but I wasn't really overwhelmed by those pictures, nice enough but no gold star.
Late tonight I put the bins out and noticed the ice and heavy frost on the car. The car hadn't moved all day and as a consequence hadn't warmed up at all. The patterns that formed on it were just so abstract, quite amazing and I had to shoot them. So it was on with the garage lights for illumination and then some experimentation to find the best pattern and the best angle to shoot from.
