Day 225
Chelmsford
Tuesday 31st January 2017
I stopped to watch two Buzzards flying low over the fields close to Little Baddow this morning. They really are majestic birds, moving with the briefest of wing beats. We used to have Peregrines in the Chelmer Valley, but I don't know if they are still here. There have been sightings out on the marshes near Tollesbury and I would dearly like to see one close to home. I remember an occasion taking photos along the coast path in west Wales, when I got buzzed by a Peregrine. I don't know who was more surprised but the Peregrine was definitely not expecting to find me on the cliffs that day.
More dark and moody shots around the city today. I'm really enjoying this and have a whole bunch of shots that I want to take. When the clocks went back to GMT in the autumn, I was worried about the variety of pictures that I may be able to shoot. These dark city stories are such a revelation. Oddly it's the quality of light that really appeals, with dramatic pools of light and dark creating a level of drama that's difficult to achieve under natural light.
