Day 325
Our Garden
Thursday 11th May 2017
Life has been pretty stressfulat the office recently and today there was another twist in the tale. I really hope it settles down soon so that my team and I can concentrate on the job at hand. Another beautiful day, sunny all day long and really warm too.
I knew I'd find it difficult to top yesterday's landscape photos, so tonight's shot is totally different. We've planted a number of Clematis in our garden and this one is looking splendid at the moment, a real cascade of blooms tumbling from around 7 feet high. I love the simplicity of the white flower and the contrast of the darker centre, which is kind of purple. Did I mention that I like purple?
Normally I would choose to use a dedicated macro lens to photograph close up pictures but that is definitely outside the rules of this game which only allows the use of a 50mm lens shot wide open. Sometimes however, the unexpected can produce the unintended and I am really getting to love these photos, they have more of a painterly quality to them.
