Day 348

Our Garden

Our Garden

Saturday 3rd June 2017

After yesterday's storms, today turned out to be beautiful. Lots of warm sunshine throughout the day, it definitely felt like summer. I went out to feed the birds this morning and noticed a patch of poppies had burst in to bloom, a mass of purple with the odd red bloom thrown in too. I grabbed my camera and took a few shots not knowing whether I'd get a better opportunity. Picture done for the day!

Mersea hold an annual artist open studio weekend and this year they have 15 artists involved, so Doff and I spent the day over on Mersea Island wandering around the studios. Some really good artists and some interesting work including ceramics, jewellery, painting and photography too. The late afternoon and evening was spent out in the garden, cutting grass and watering pots. It's a busy time in the garden at the moment to stay on top of the jobs.
