Great response to the TPG open night last night, with many photos already having been posted. It was so good to meet up with photographers that have been to our previous Autumn open nights and to be able to spend a little more time, in a much more relaxed setting.

The weather this week has been truly wonderful, sunny and warm throughout and it's set to continue through the weekend. The added bonus is the sun setting so late now we're approaching the Solstice. As a consequence the light is strong and harsh for much of the day and I've been waiting until later in the evening to take my shots. Tonight it was after 8pm and as I walked around our garden I noticed this poppy flower about to burst in to life. I'm sure the poppy will be beautiful but the bud, with it's purples and greens, is such a wonderful colour that it deserves to be photographed.
