Day 365

Woodrolfe Hard

Woodrolfe Hard

Tuesday 20th June 2017

I've discovered story telling through this project. Images that aren't just a captured version of reality but which speak of what may have come before, the scars of events witnessed or maybe experiences that are unfolding. Something beyond a pretty picture that offers just enough to make the mind ponder.

A new jetty has been built recently at the marina, which offers a viewpoint that I've only had at low tide previously and what a difference it's made; to be able to get out on to the water and look back at the layers of time along Woodrolfe Hard. The calm of high tide at sunset; the old granary seemingly immovable, yet sol vulnerable; the boats in the foreground and the distant masts hinting at the how important the water is to this community; and one solitary person lost in thought.

My own thoughts are turning towards the Solstice tomorrow, my last day, the culmination of a project which has meant so much to me and of course, my grand finale!
