Day 96
Mill Beach
Saturday 24th September
Doff and I went to Mill Beach for a walk this evening. In the grounds of the Mill Beach pub overlooking the river, a group of Pagans were celebrating the turning of the seasons. Although the equinox was meant to be 22nd September, today is the last day where the daylight hours are longer than the dark hours, so tomorrow we are well and truly in autumnal territory.
As we walked along the sea wall toward Osea Island, we were accompanied by two Thames Sailing barges, such a timeless site and something that seems so right in this place. We're lucky that heritage is supported so well by tourism otherwise I fear we would lose most of these old icons.
