Day 83

St Michael's Mount

St Michael's Mount

Sunday 11th September

Beautiful morning and what an amazing view across to the mount.  We got the shopping out of the way early and then spent the afternoon wandering around Porth Leven in the sunshine, eating Roskilly's ice cream. In the evening we walked out of Marazion, down to the beach for a view of the mount from the east side across the rocks. So pleased with the long exposure photos on my D750. I used my first roll of Tri-X 400 in my Pentax, I'll have to wait to see them.

I compared my Nikon 50mm f1.8 and Sigma f1.4. The Nikon lens doesn't match well with the D750 when used wide open, the Sigma is definitely better. Overall I like thedepth of field and sharpness characteristics around f2 on the Sigma for landscape work. When ultimate sharpness is needed, you still need to stop down to at least f4. It really shows how much extra resolutionthe D750 has over the D700.

Back to the cottage to watch Poldark and barbecue our dinner.
